Position: Temporary Transport Planner (Contract Assignment)
About Us: A dynamic and community-oriented local council committed to enhancing transportation infrastructure and promoting sustainable mobility. They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Temporary Transport Planner to join our team on a contract basis.
Responsibilities: As a Temporary Transport Planner, you will contribute to the efficient and effective management of our local transport network. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead multimode strategic planning for transport and land use integration, one or more transport modes, networks, areas and/or corridors, and ensure that relevant transport programs and service objectives are met.
- Lead strategic transport network planning outcomes and develop a forward investment program based on sound transport principles and effectively prioritised to meet customer needs.
- Lead and represent Council to provide specialist transport planning advice to the Team Leader, Manager, Director and Council to achieve positive outcomes for Council and the Casey community
- Coordinate and manage innovative sustainable transport plans and projects with stakeholders to ensure consistency with Casey’s strategic objectives.
- Manage the network planning, design and development of transport projects from inception to completion.
Qualifications and Experience: To excel in this role, you should have:
- Tertiary qualifications in planning, transport, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated and proven leadership in leading transport strategies, policies, plans, funding submissions and projects.
- Proven leadership in project management, development, implementation and evaluation of strategic transport network planning together with a well-developed understanding of transport and traffic issues where they relate to transport network planning.
- Proven leadership experience in managing productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and mentoring team members.
- Relevant equivalent experience in a leading transport planning role would be considered an advantage.
- National Criminal History Check
