An opportunity for a Process and Manufacturing Engineering (PME) Manager has become available position to support the growth of our business based at our Bellevue site. Newly created, this senior position will include both technical requirements and strategic deliverables, offering both variety and the ability to remain connected with your technical speciality.
Overseeing a team of manufacturing engineers across the special processes for Alstom including welding, crimping, painting, gluing, press fitting and torque tightening, we see this as an organic step up for a specialist within one of these fields. Located at our well-appointed, newly built facility at Bellevue, the PME Manager reports directly to the Site MD and is accountable for the management of special processes and critical operations regarding product safety and reliability.
Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the continual development and effectiveness of the teams of Manufacturing Engineers, Process engineers and Special process engineers, implementing continuous improvement methodologies
  • Progress and maintain oversight for all industrial deliverables including master data accuracy, method time, quality of outputs and manufacturability in conjunction with relevant project teams
  • Provide high level of support to the Production process including actual and forecasted workloads
  • Contribute to site and business wide improvement standards and processes and model a safety first work culture
What we are looking for
  • Proven experience from a similar role within an industrial background with knowledge or exposure to production processes, automotive or rail industries
  • Leadership experience for a team of technical experts
  • Practical experience of Process Engineering, writing and improving manufacturing work instructions, line balancing, Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience working with an ERP (ideally SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration follow-up
  • Applied knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems
  • Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills and approachable nature to empower and upskill team members
  • A natural problem solver and solution-oriented team player
