We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who is driven to take active steps to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing with a quality and safety focus.
A self-starter, your accountability as a Manufacturing Engineer will be to lead/manage, participate in significant projects that add value to the business including re-engineering of manufacturing methods, processes and cost reduction. Working closely with a core team of peers, you will be expected to achieve improvement activities.
Our preferred candidate will have an engineering background in manufacturing/production engineering and an understanding of continuous improvement methodologies. Your communication skills will be paramount in ensuring successful completion of the projects, as you will be liaising with the shop floor and line management on a regular basis. Experience performing in a similar role in manufacturing environments is an advantage.
The successful applicant will be required to plan, instigate and follow through the application of new processes and equipment, always ensuring that high standards of quality are met.
Applicants should have hands on experience in a similar field and be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:
- Injection moulding, press metal stamping and tooling experience
- Understanding and experience in automotive quality system requirements ie; FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, APQP Process, etc.
- Provide manufacturing engineering design guidance to ensure design for manufacturing
- Create, design and support gauges methodology
- Implementation of assembly line layouts and time studies
- Experienced in machine design
- Implement actions to continuously improve on existing standards
- Hands on experience and expertise in fault finding and resolution in a production environment
- Core team member on project teams meeting timing and cost targets.
- Collection and analysis of statistical data in order to ensure correct root cause identification
- Safety focus with hazard resolution skills
A tertiary qualification in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering with relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential. Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with Industrial Engineering techniques is essential for success in this role.
You will be able to demonstrate successes in contributing to improvements in production efficiency through the application of sound engineering principles, individual determination and effective teamwork.
You will work closely with Design Engineers, Quality Engineers, Mould Supervisors, Team Leaders and shop floor employees to resolve manufacturing issues.
