About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Chemical and/or Process Engineer for a newly created role of 'Process Improvement Engineer' based at the facility in Brisbane (Pinkenba). This is an exceptionally unique and exciting opportunity for a passionate, ambitious, and driven individual to own, implement and drive process improvement throughout the manufacturing facility. Initially learning, understanding, and capturing the current fibre cement process, you will then identify and remove process constraints to maximise operational output. Through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders you will conduct production scale trials to improve plant performance with a focus on quality improvement and plant OEE.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
  • Define and capture the critical process contract points.
  • Clearly identify impact of process variability on product performance on both machine and final product testing
  • Develop and implement solutions to remove process variability and optimise equipment efficiencies.
  • Ability to capture and document current processes and knowledge
  • Identify laboratory resource requirements.
  • Produce technical reports and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Remove equipment and operational constraints to improve plant OEE.
  • Commission new equipment for process improvement when applicable.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical or Process preferred).
  • Minimum two to four years' experience in precast concrete (desirable).
  • Ability to effectively drive change in a manufacturing environment
  • A team player with a helpful and positive attitude.
  • A can-do, hands-on approach, able to work well under pressure and priorities workload to meet business needs.
  • Work in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Ability to identify problems, and initiate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with good computer skills.
  • Maturity to work with autonomy and use initiative whilst organising your own workload and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • LEAN Six Sigma experience with a record of success in process improvement is desirable.
