Role Summary:
The lead Process Risk Superintendent position is a growth opportunity based at our clients Queensland Refinery.
This role will engage and work with the site teams through Management of Change HSE evaluations, process safety related incident investigations, reporting of process safety performance, communications, and engagement.
Key Knowledge & Experience
- Implement Safety, Process improvement and economic gain studies via MOC and address Unit Reliability Briefs
- Provide Guidance to Monitoring and Optimization of Process Units
- Provide Technical support to maintenance, production planning, engineering teams and project teams.
- Provide guidance for DMC and improve process control schemes.
- Chair HAZOP sessions, PRAs and participation in LOPA studies
- Experience with PSVs sizing case and maximum possible pressurization
- Experience reviewing process alarms based on consequence, assign priority and corrective action for Console Operators
- Prepare and optimize the Chemical and Catalyst budgets
- Evaluate Catalyst performance and provide technical support in catalyst evaluation to Procurement team
- Review Safe Operating Envelop of plants and prepare Process Assurance Plan based on best practices, Standards and SMEs inputs against identified gasps
- Process safety monitoring using API 754
- Conduct safety system inspections of major incident controls and field
- Knowledge of risk management HAZOP, safety assessment (LOPA, Bowtie, SFAIRP), PSI, MoC and PSSR processes (an advantage)
- Strong teamwork facilitation and communication skills
- Incident investigation knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis techniques
Relationships Of The Role
- Operation Superintendents and Operation Specialists, engage teams to ensure most significant process safety risks are understood and are being progressed
- Operators, assistance with understanding of risk, propagate process safety engagement
- Refinery process engineers
- Technical & Engineering Superintendents including development engineering and Process Safety Improvement Manager
- External Process Safety and Risk Consultants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
- Chartered Professional Engineer
- Have at least 5 years total experience with at least 3 years’ experience in Oil Refining or the Petrochemical Industry
