About the role

Part of Thales Australia, Australian Munitions is the largest supplier of explosive ordnance to the Australian Defence Force, with a successful track record delivering ammunition, propellants, explosives and related services, including acid production and industrial waste treatment to Defence and commercial markets.

Reporting to the HSE Manager and partnering with the production team, the Process Safety Engineer provides specialist risk and Safety Engineering advice and services to support safe production.

Responsibilities

Bringing your experience, you will learn to

  • Provide Hazard Identifications, Risk Assessment and Control processes to craft opportunities for ongoing improvement.

  • Offer advice to production, maintenance and project engineering staff on risk engineering and management.

  • Plan, review, prepare and facilitate Process Safety assessment workshops

  • Prepare and review documentation used within systematic safety assessment workshops.

  • Review and prepare reports defining deficiencies within the technical plant, equipment and maintenance manuals in preparation for facility MHF systematic safety assessment workshops.

Ideally, from day one, you will hold:

  • A Tertiary qualification in chemical engineering, industrial chemistry, or other related engineering fields.

  • An understanding of processing chemical plant engineering design principles, reliability and risk control.
