Job description

The Product Stewardship Specialist – Sustainable Systems is responsible for the development and implementation of PPG product regulatory compliance and sustainable materials management programs across all SBU’s and functions, and to ensure processes are in place to integrate Product Stewardship requirements into business and operational activities in the ANZ region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support product compliance programs which have been established and monitored at PPG. This includes product hazard communication (GHS SDS, Labels), chemical inventory control (i.e., Australia AICIS, New Zealand HSNO and NZIoC), International chemical convention (drug precursor, biocide etc.), and PPG RSLs requirement.
  • Provide training on product compliance tools and regulatory requirements to stakeholders (i.e., R&D, Product Managers) and cross functional organizations.
  • In case of new chemicals notification required for Australia and New Zealand, coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective registrations.
  • Support ERP-GPS troubleshooting.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-SBU teams
  • Support the integration of Product Stewardship requirements in the ANZ region through the creation, documentation and standardization of processes and practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of SBU or cross function processes that can integrate Product Stewardship requirements into business and operational activities.
  • Support audits of current and potential contract manufacturers and warehouses to ensure PPG interests are protected as required.
  • Support development of packaging selection process to ensure that, whilst maintaining compliance and performance, PPG contributes to the Australian National Packaging Targets
  • Monitoring latest emerging issues, such as GHS developments, chemical inventory changes and other regulation (i.e., VOC). They would also be responsible for joining chemical trade associations, regulatory groups and where necessary to lobby on behalf of PPG

Requirement:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related science
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders.
  • 2-5 years’ work experience in a similar Product Stewardship position or associated function in technical, product management, quality, or EHS.
  • A strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently when appropriate
  • Able to Travel as required ANZ
