This is a full-time permanent position with an annual salary of between $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation and benefits. This role will suit for a Production Manager who is highly skilled, organised & one with hands-on experience in fiber optic connector manufacturing and assembly.
The Responsibilities
· Preparing and overseeing the manufacturing process installed and commissioned for optical fiber product line.
· Preparation of Testing and QA procedures in accordance with international standards for the termination of Optical Connectors
· Overseeing the procurement, installation & testing of new plant and equipment
· Implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to reduce the production cost.
· Controlling the production process by monitoring production records and quality reports
· Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of defective parts in the production line
· Coordinating the implementation of occupational health and safety requirements in manufacturing environment.
· Installation and commissioning of Fiber optic termination equipment's & machineries
· Setting up all testing equipment and defining the test procedures
· Setting up production for Diamond active-core alignment and mono-block manufacturing equipment.
· Developing and manufacturing of Hybrid cable& connector assemblies for 5G roll out projects.
· Assembly and manufacturing of high precision optical cable and connector assemblies
· Assembly of 38999 mil spec optical connector assemblies.
· Assembly of large core high power optical connectors.
Relevant qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in engineering & manufacturing management.
· Minimum of 3-year experience in optical connector manufacturing & fiber optic assembly line.
· Experience in designing optical connector solutions.
Relevant skills:
· Manufacturing & Assembly of Fiber optic connectors and cable assemblies.
· proven skills and experience in optical performance testing procedures in production environment.
· Knowledge in interferometry testing, Insertion & return loss measurement in optical connector assembly line.
· Knowledge in OTDR testing for cable drum & spool testing.
· Splicing of optical fiber both single and multi-fiber (ribbon fiber).
· Knowledge in Fiber optics, Ethernet /CAT6 cable assemblies and copper networking products.
· Knowledge & experience in high density fiber optic sub racks assemblies and associated products.
· knowledge in tooling of sheet metal products & molding of plastic components.
· Ability to understand the engineering drawings and guide production team to build products based on customer design & requirement.
· Capacity to design optical fibre termination products & solutions
Relevant Experience:
· Minimum of 3-year experience in optical connector manufacturing & fiber optic assembly line.
· Experience in designing optical connector solutions.
· Experience in Diamond SA product line, especially on the secondary crimping for E2000 connector assembly.
· Experience in Hybrid connector manufacturing and assembly line.
· Experience in Interferometry testing of optical connector end faces.
· Experience in Fiber optic splicing, IL & RL testing procedures.
