About the Role

  • This position reports operationally to the Director of Allied Health and Rehabilitation, Princess Alexandra Hospital, and professionally to the Executive Director Medical Services, Princess Alexandra Hospital
  • This position will be under the research supervision of The Hopkins Centre and be accountable to the Griffith University Health group for The Hopkins Centre operations and research deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to enhance research capacity and capability within the Division of Allied Health and Rehabilitation (DAHR).
  • Provides strategic advice and oversight to secure funding grants to enhance services within the DAHR.
  • Provide leadership and collegial management of The Hopkins Centre's core funding in partnership with the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and the Foundation Partnership with DAHR, Metro South Health (MSH).
  • Build an integrated and collaborative approach to the management of the Hopkins Centre two core MAIC-funded Research Programs, 1) Evidence-based Practices and Community Supports and 2) Enabling Technologies and Environments.
  • Accelerate research translation by bringing clinical and citizen researchers together with academic researchers to deliver meaningful outcomes for industry and government.
  • Lead and manage complex cross-sectoral initiatives, strategic plan, ongoing research quality, research outcomes and partnerships, ensuring performance indicators and targets are met in line with funding conditions.
  • Attract significant competitive funding for the DAHR and The Hopkins Centre, research agenda & research positions.
  • Develop the profile of the DAHR and The Hopkins Centre in collaboration with the Griffith University Health Group and Metro South leadership teams and relevant committees through engagement and collaboration with professional, industry and community groups.

In addition, the Director contributes to these same outcomes across the hospital as a whole.
