QBuild are currently inviting applications for a temporary Program Technical Lead to join our team for 1 year (with the possibility of extension) primarily working onsite in the Brisbane CBD.
QBuild has established the Build to Enable Program to deliver on the process and system initiative goals within the larger Re-build QBuild initiative. The Program’s key goals include transition to a modern eco-system of business solutions and to lay a modern technology platform that can support more efficient, simplified and customer centric processes.
The primary purpose of the position is to provide thought leadership and practical day-to-day guidance to Program teams to strategise, plan and implement digital solutions that are in line with the Program vision and Definition-of-Done.
The position will supervise several direct reports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct risk assessments, identify systems or solutions that may be at risk of failure (including dependencies) and develop solutions.
  • Lead the development of conceptual, logical and physical solution specifications for the new solution eco-system platform, as well as lead any solution design activities for new/changed systems/solutions.
  • Analyse, document and present overviews, impacts, options and recommendations on contemporary ICT issues and concept proposals for the introduction of systems or solutions, as well as provide guidance in the capture of non-functional features (such as cybersecurity).
  • Provide expert advice on program functions such as data migration, testing and solution configuration.
  • Establish and facilitate an architecture forum between Program and departmental ICT teams, to ensure rapid progress in relation to architectural decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and networks with a variety of stakeholders, to ensure the implementation of the best digital solutions are delivered.
  • Strategically lead a collaborative, performance-focussed team of subject matter experts in a responsive and effective manner, to minimise disruptions and meet agreed performance targets.
