Programmer – Southern Steel WA

An excellent opportunity currently exists for an experienced Programmer to join our team!

Southern Steel WA, part of the largest privately owned steel distributor in Australia, is a dynamic leader in the steel industry. It has built up an impressive reputation for reliability, flexibility and excellent service, which our experienced and motivated staff in Hope Valley use to ensure that all our customers steel requirements are fulfilled. 

Due to growth within our business, we are currently looking to expand our team by adding a dedicated Processing Programmer. This person will work with our current Estimating and Programming team to assist with programming and scheduling of jobs for all of our state-of-the-art machines.

Your duties will include (but not be limited to): 

• Liaising with customers via phone and email while ensuring excellence in customer service is maintained
• Understanding and interpreting client enquiries from drawings and written specifications 
• Accurate programming of jobs using PLM and VACAM
• Ensuring smooth and cost-efficient production

Suitable applicants must have:

• Excellent customer service, communication and computer skills including experience using programming software 
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Working knowledge and experience within the steel industry is highly regarded
• High attention to detail 

Advanced IT Skills and knowledge of steel would be highly advantageous.
