About the Role
We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer in our Future Energies team supporting an electrical project in Katherine, NT. This role is Fly-In, Fly-Out position from Brisbane reporting to the Project Manager to ensure the consistency of work, deliver on project outcomes (time, cost, quality, safety), identify opportunities for improvements and align with both the client and Downer’s way of working. 19/9 Roster (2 weekends at home each swing)
About You
- Strong computer skills with expertise in industry engineering applications
- Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Downer EDI Engineering’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and changes in priorities
- Capacity to plan, organise and prioritise work tasks
- Results oriented in order to achieve required service levels & high level of interpersonal skills with experience in negotiation, organisation, problem solving and customer service
- Ability to work in a participative and consultative manner and display professional integrity with respect to matters such as confidentiality
- Committed to continuous improvement and ZERO HARM company culture.
- Experienced with electrical drawings including reviewing, creating, red lining on both PDF & CAD files.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets
- Proven experience with construction based electrical engineering works including daily reporting, progress claims, punch listing, defect tracking, NCR’s, RFI’s
- Strong skills with reviewing scope documentation and raising potential variations and discrepancies against the contract agreement.
- Ability to complete Variation Price Requests, Variation estimates and take offs.
- Ability to review and reference technical specifications and relate back to the SOW.
