Fenner Conveyors, a Michelin Group Company, is a world leader in providing engineered conveyor solutions for the mining and industrial sectors. Operating 3 manufacturing sites, 16 Service Branches as well as Engineering Design & Fabrication facilities employing over 1250 employees.
  
Your New Team & Role
 This role provides engineering and technical expertise to plan, forecast, schedule and budget for the installation of a new line in our purpose-built Fenner Conveyors Manufacturing plant.  Support our production teams by monitoring, analysing and evaluating existing manufacturing machinery, production processes and products and to develop new recommendations for changes to operations that will minimise risk, cost and wastage; increase productivity and improve the quality and consistency of final conveyor belting products.

Responsibilities
Process Improvement

  • Monitor, Analyse and evaluate existing production process and develop recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequence that will minimise risks, costs, wastage, increase yields and productivity, improve quality and consistency of final products.
  • Evaluate and recommend investment in equipment, systems or other assets that will improve the organisations production capabilities.
  • Provide engineering and technical support to production personnel.
  • Analyse more complex product specifications, parts, drawings and other engineering data to develop improvements to production processes
  
Project Management
Manage complex or critical engineering projects which may include;
  
  • Design, communicate and execute project operational plan for completing project and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope. Monitor progress and performance against project plan.  Evaluating, organising and prioritising work within the overall project schedule
  • Identify and take action to resolve operational problems to minimise delays.
  • Prepare complex engineering standards, designs and work specifications.
  • Select and manage external contractors and service/ equipment suppliers.
  • Participating in Client/contractor meetings and resolving Client/engineering and management project issues.
  • Assist with project QA/QC and commissioning systems and documentation.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Head project meetings to collect and disseminate information pertaining to projects. Prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Assist with technical specification review and resolution.
  • Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve an “on-time” result including follow-up with external suppliers to ensure timely response to action items.
  • Monitor program cost activity to achieve an “in budget” result.
  • Evaluate quotations utilising supplier information, cost standards, technical information from quality, manufacturing engineering, design.
  • Prepares designs, drawings, plans and specifications for projects, engineered systems, technical equipment or components.
  • Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for project.
  • Reviews and monitors project progress to assure quality and adherence to requirements of contract documents.
  • Supervise installation and construction work and ensure efficient standards of workmanship and work schedules are maintained

About you
We are looking for a self-driven, confident and technical sound individual with the following skills and experience: -
  
  • Proven knowledge of condition monitoring and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Technical Design - Ability to prepare read and interpret drawings and technical work specifications to a high level. Knowledge of PLC programming preferably Rockwell Automation and Siemens.
  • Knowledge of safety and the pro-active application of new techniques to improve safety performance.
  • Prior Experience with design codes, industry standards as well as industrial design including CAD.
  • Experience with Quality Control and Quality assurance systems, techniques, processes
  • Knowledge and prior application of medium to large scale industrial Manufacturing methods and processes
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing plant and equipment, specification in Rubber Mixing Operation
  • Strong and proven written and oral communication and presentation skills. Ability to structure, engage and present information clearly too various audiences Ability to structure, engage and present information clearly too various audiences
  • Commercial, financial & Numeracy Skills - Ability to prepare and understand costing and estimates. Able to demonstrate ability to complete statistical data analysis
  • Complex Problem Solving - Ability to apply technical knowledge and experience to solve problems
