About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm position working 35 hours per week. This position is located at the Shoalhaven Water Operations Depot, South Nowra.
The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
Duties
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager – Digital Control Systems, the focus of this position is to:
- Prepare Electrical Engineering designs including investigation, drawings, specifications, costing, reports, and associated documents.
- Provide quality electrical consultancy and engineering services to internal and external customers including but not limited to:
- Preparation of electrical tender and contract documentation
- Detailed electrical design, including preparation of drawings and specifications and scope of work documentation.
- Preparation and/or review of scheduled maintenance and repair programs
- Management and supervision of contracts and minor projects relating to provision of electrical services and other contracts as required.
- Supervises and supports a work group within the Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level.
- Exhibits positive behaviours by showing initiative, taking responsibility for self and work group actions, and referring issues of ethics and probity.
- Communicates in a clear and concise manner, coaches and provides constructive feedback.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- Experience in a similar role.
- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
- Demonstrated experience in
- Project Management.
- Contract Management and Contract Administration including the management of consultants and contractors.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems by research and analysis of state-of-the-art equipment and concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to make judgements based on analytical thought.
- Ability to write technical reports, project briefs and project and contract documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to follow defined OHS policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to explain situations, advise, persuade, negotiate, and solve problems.
- Demonstrated experience with management and prioritisation of conflicting work demands.
- A commitment to undertake relevant workplace training.
