With several secure long-term contracts in place, DCCM is seeking to build its team to ensure its ability to deliver its services to the expectations of our client is maintained as more opportunities present.
The Role
As a Project Engineer at DCCM, you will subcontract manage the delivery of civil infrastructure and building repair and maintenance projects at state government facilities throughout Western Australia
The role requires you to:
- Develop and manage medium and short-range construction programs.
- Manage external design teams
- Manage communication with the client and key stakeholders.
- Develop and launch tender packages and programs
- Preparation of subcontract agreements.
- Subcontract manage delivery
- Prepare cost forecasts and manage cost controls
- Implement project WHSEQ management plans and systems.
You will also have an active role in assisting DCCM to further develop and reinforce its project management systems and capabilities.
The role will predominantly require you to manage the projects remotely from our office in East Victoria Park although short (typically less than a day) on site presence may be required from time to time.
You will be ably supported at all times by the team at DCCM.
About you
The role of Project Engineer at DCCM would suit someone who is wanting to transition away from the unsustainable demands of the typical 'construction project' in Western Australia and wishes to be part of team that seeks to develop a more-rounded, solutions-based outcome for clients. It would equally suit a candidate looking to transition back into full time work after time away and / or someone seeking flexible working arrangements.
The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team, have good communication skills and an inclination towards problem solving.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- Demonstratable 3-6 (or more) years' experience in the construction industry preferably in building / civil works.
- Previous on-site construction delivery experience, looking after major trade packages.
- Degree qualification in a relevant field of study (e.g. Engineering, Construction Management).
- Clear and articulate communication skills coupled with an ability to manage stakeholders, both internally and externally.
