Who will you be working with? Reporting to the WHSE Manager with the support of the Regional Quality Manager. The Project HSEQ Advisor position is tasked with maintaining, improving, developing and implementing the companies accredited HSEQ management systems to meet both company and legislative requirements. The role is also tasked with managing the HSE and Quality function for projects and providing advice and support to contribute positively to the health, safety and well-being of all employees, contractors and the environment. This position will have direct operational input and responsibility for rail projects within Victoria and in other areas as required by the business.

Where is the position located? This is full time position based from our brand new office in Melbourne and travelling to deliver projects onsite to cover Victorian projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure the appropriate standards of health, safety environmental and quality management are adhered to.
  • Identify and improve/develop company HSEQ policies, systems and programs, whilst monitoring legislative requirements to ensure positive WHSE outcomes are reached for staff, clients and contractors.
  • Provide HSEQ training and advice to managers and staff on industry best practice.
  • Manage accident/incident investigations and prevention initiatives.
  • Liaise and represent the company on all WHSE & Q matters with clients, government agencies and the community in general.
  • Report on all facets of HSEQ as required.
  • Participate and represent HSEQ in tender preparation and review.
  • Manage HSEQ within projects with team members.
  • Maintains and fosters relationships with current and potential stakeholders, in particular, clients, service providers, contractors, subcontractors, and employees.
  • Coordinate and action the Internal and External auditing process for ISO systems and FSC Criteria for projects and assist the WHSE Manager to manage the requirements to maintain accreditations.
  • Undertake Quality Management processes to support the projects and the company ISO Management system. This may include but not limited to audits, parts inspections, customer NC investigation and managing supplier quality.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • Minimum Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Experience and proven track record implementing HSEQ for a contractor within heavy industry at project and corporate level.
  • Proficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
  • Prepared to travel regularly and work remotely when required.
  • Qualification/significant Experience in investigation methodology such as ICAM / 5 Why Investigation Methods / 8D investigation.
  • Certified and experienced in ISO Standards (9001/45001/14001) / Management Systems Auditing including Lead Auditor qualifications and experience.
  • Office of the Federal Safety Commission (OFSC) experience including audit and compliance management to the FSC Criteria and Guidelines
  • Construction Project Experience

Preferred

  • Experience in a Rail Construction, Signalling and Commissioning Environment.
  • Cert IV Training & Assessment Qualification.
