Job description

Since 1995, Camco Engineering has been providing innovative, time critical engineering solutions to the mining, oil and gas, rail and energy sectors in Australia, providing services to tier one resource companies and with ongoing contracts with all of the major iron ore producers and LNG operators. 

About the role:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing fabrication and refurbishment projects within Camco's Belmont Division and working with a team of highly skilled top-tier fabricators, welders, qualified engineers and inspectors 

You will be required to prepare estimates and quotes, reviewing tenders and contracts, procuring materials, goods and services and initiating production documents, document non-conformances, initiate and process corrective actions and preventive actions, sign off non-conformances, and sign off completed jobs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare competitive quotes based on project requirements, materials, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Initiating production documents and documenting non-conformances
  • Work closely with leading hands and supervisors to establish production priorities based on customer orders, resource availability, and divisional objectives.
  • Preparing condition reports, coordinating subcontractors, and overseeing the works carried out in the workshops.   
  • Collaborate with other divisions within the organisation to streamline processes and share resources.

About you:

  • Experience in fabrication, welding, machining and assembly projects would be an advantage.
  • Strong industry knowledge of Welding Processes and Welding Development.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance, contract documentation and interpretation of mechanical drawings and material take-offs.
  • Eager to go into the workshop and efficiently organise projects and tasks.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
  • A desire for continuous learning.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
