Your opportunity

The Project Manager Wastewater Treatment Plant Strategy will work independently to lead and oversee the planning, procurement, design, and construction of upgrades to Wastewater Treatment Plants on Redlands Coast. This role focuses on successfully completing strategic planning, negotiating with environmental regulators, and obtaining necessary approvals for the proposed upgrades. The Project Manager will take a holistic view of the program, ensuring that all projects are professionally managed and coordinated in alignment with the organisation’s defined priorities.

Guided by our Values, you will:

  • Oversee a collaborative decision-making process with the Water and Wastewater Management Committee for the Redlands Coast Wastewater Treatment Plant Adaptive Planning Pathway Plan.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor risk management, procurement, resource allocation, and communication strategies to effectively engage and manage project stakeholders and their expectations.
  • Manage the creation of an integrated program plan, including a detailed execution roadmap outlining short, medium, and long-term actions tied to key milestones.
  • Communicate with and manage project stakeholders, overseeing the standards and deliverables of project consultants and contractors.

  • Has strong leadership and management skills with extensive experience in planning, designing, and delivering Wastewater Treatment Plants in a regulated environment.
  • Can work independently and as a team leader, meeting strict deadlines on infrastructure projects with demonstrated effectiveness in managing external contractors and teams of consultants within time and budget constraints.
  • Has exceptional problem-solving and research/analytical skills, with the ability to obtain, interpret, and communicate complex technical information and recommendations to diverse audiences.
  • Can use their outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, to achieve optimal outcomes.

Eligibility

  • You'll hold a current 'C' class Driver's Licence.
  • You'll have relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project / Program Management or a related relevant field and significant professional experience at a senior level.
