Flexible location – Cooma, Berridale, Bombala or Jindabyne

2 Year Term Contract with the possibility of extending

Package: $95,907.11 - $105,863.51 + 11% Super (Grade 11 of the SMRC Salary System 2023-2024)

About the Role:

  • Support the development of the annual Water & Wastewater Capital Works Program.
  • Project Management of project identified within the Water & Wastewater Capital Works Program.
  • Assist in the Tender process and set up systems for the Tender documentation including technical specifications.
  • in implementing Capital Works Programs, ensure all legislative and council policy requirements have been assessed. They include the following tasks (but are not limited to) :
    • Ensure community consultation has been carried out prior to commencement of construction,
    • Set up reporting mechanisms including the GIPA Act and register for Contract Management,
    • Liaise with Finance and set up processes to ensure all project costs have been captured in the finance system.
  • Assist in grant funding applications for water and wastewater projects
  • Ensure all asset data and financial data of new assets are updated in the asset management and mapping systems.
  • Assist in development assessments to include, inspections and testing of developer provided assets.
  • Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.
  • Contribute to the performance of the Council: demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills and be accountable for own decisions and actions.
  • Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions.

This role will initially be on contract for a period of 24 months, with potential for extension.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 3-5 years experience in Engineering Project Management.
  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant field of engineering, project management or related discipline; or substantial contemporary experience in a similar role, coupled with ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in scoping and estimating.
  • Proven track record of managing cross functional teams to deliver a high standard performance.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes that contribute to the achievement of the organisation's strategic goals.
  • Class C Drivers License.

Desirable criteria:

  • Previous experience in Water & Wastewater Project Management.
  • 3-5 years experience in Local Government.
  • Experience in database management.
  • Engineering Design & Drawing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in scoping and estimating
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams to deliver a high standard of performance.
