Details: Bimberi Youth Justice Centre (Bimberi) is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join the team as Project Officer.
The Project Officer will progress work against several review recommendations as well as implementing strategies against the Disability Justice Agreement and Royal Commission into Abuse in Care. The Project Officer will also be required to undertake other ad hoc projects as required.
The position reports to the Deputy Centre Manager, Bimberi.
Bimberi is focuses on delivering young person-centred, evidence-based and developmentally appropriate, human rights compliant intervention to young people and their families.
Bimberi is a human rights compliant youth detention facility. The Centre provides safe and secure accommodation for young people between the ages of 12 and 21 years, who are remanded in custody or sentenced by the ACT Children’s or Supreme Courts.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in human services, policy or a related discipline (desired, not essential).
Possession of a current drivers licence.
Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au).
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for up to 12 months. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
