About the role
The Project Officer (Apprentices, Trainees & Schools) engages with leaders and staff across the Student Experience Directorate, to provide administrative support, expert advice, and project skills to support the Business Unit and TAFE SA strategic outcomes. The Project Officer works under broad guidelines to deliver advice related to the activities of the Student Experience directorate.

Key outcomes of the role include:

  • Coordinate the development of project, financial, HR and risk plans or reports related to the projects and operations of Student Experience directorate.
  • Prepare and contribute to timely and well-researched briefings, reports, and notes on sensitive and complex issues, including Chief Executive, Board, Ministerial and Parliamentary briefings.
  • Provide support, expert advice and analysis utilising a range of sources including business unit and TAFE SA data, information and known issues to contribute to continuous improvement processes.
  • Facilitate administrative leadership and support to Student Experience business unit leaders in their day-to-day administrative requirements to enhance the Student Experience.

To be the successful applicant, you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and delivering on projects or multiple workflows, working in a complex environment, responding flexibly to changing priorities and moving from detail to larger, strategic issues.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to develop effective networks.
  • Provide sound, well-formed written and verbal advice, reports, and briefings to senior management and communicate and negotiate with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy professional integrity and tact in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • High level problem solving and strategic skills, including an ability to involve oneself and other in processes to achieve a shared goal.
  • High level data and analytical skills. The ability to analyse and evaluate to provide recommendations to senior level managers.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS). 

•Out of hours work will be required.

•Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.

•Eligibility to work in Australia.
