OVERVIEW
The City of Canterbury Bankstown is the 2nd largest Local Council in NSW (by population) with around 370,000 residents, spread across their 41 suburbs. Council delivers a wide range of projects and services to their growing community (one of the most multi-cultural communities in the world).
As the Project Reporting Administrator, you will support the reporting requirements for projects funded through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) Program, formerly known as WestInvest. $50million of grant funding was provided to the City of Canterbury Bankstown to plan and deliver 8 high-value projects across their local government area.
This position sits within the Forward Works Planning team, part of the wider City Plan and Transformation section (totalling 35 staff). You will report into the ‘Forward Works Planning Coordinator’, who will provide you with a smooth induction/handover.
THE PROJECTS
  • Revitalising Campsie Civic Precinct ($20mn) to deliver a new library and create a dedicated arts and culture precinct
  • Roberts Park Community Hub ($10mn) a new multipurpose facility
  • Belmore and Lakemba Town Centre Renewal ($10mn) to activate the highstreets with more trees and outdoor dining options.
  • Panania Library and Knowledge Centre ($10mn) to transform the 50yr old library into a modern facility.
  • Creating a Walking City ($10mn) which will deliver 23.5km of priority footpaths across 58 locations.
  • Electrifying the City (10mn) will deliver a new solar farm and EV charging facilities.
  • Wran District Park (6.5mn) a destination open space with a bespoke play space.
  • Local Traffic Program ($5mn) to increase pedestrian safety and accessibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the administration and reporting requirements of Council’s WSIG projects and other infrastructure grant funded projects at Council, collating and analysing outcomes to develop information for the community and statutory reporting. Key duties include:
  • Preparing quarterly progress reports, this includes project tacking (actual project activities completed vs yet to be completed, coupled with project expenditure reporting)
  • Preparation of a monitoring and evaluation plan for each project, followed by the subsequent reporting of this
  • Reviewing project data using various sources such as funding deeds and agreements
  • Preparing quarterly communications reports
  • Reporting on the benefits delivered to the community
  • Using systems and software, such as: SmartyGrants & Microsoft Office 365
BENEFITS
This opportunity is full-time 4-year contract role (which ties in with the WSIG project and funding timeframe). You will be entitled to paid sick leave, paid annual leave and access to regular rostered days off (up to 1 RDO every 2-3 weeks)!
  • Flexible working arrangement available. Working from their Bankstown office 3 days p/week and up to 2 days working from home (WFH).
  • Working full-time hours on a 4-year contract.
  • Paying between: $87,700 to $102,000 + super, paid directly by Council (not via an agency).
  • Equip yourself with the skills needed to secure a Senior Project Officer or Project Manager role in the future.
  • A varied role supporting interesting and valuable projects.
  • A detailed handover will be provided.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered, you will have sound administrative skills, high attention to detail and the ability to understands budgets & percentages. Ideally, you will have at least 3yrs work experience as a: Grants Administrator, Grant Reporting Officer, Project Support Officer, Project Officer (ideally with exposure to grant funding and/or infrastructure projects).
