Your new company
An international mining house that is at the forefront of the extraction of coal is seeking an experienced Shutdown Coordinator, Supervisor and Safety & Compliance Officer for an upcoming shutdown project. This work is based outside of Mackay at the BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal.
Your new role
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervision of Contractors performing various structural works on site.
- Planning and coordination of work to shutdown schedules.
- Development and review of safety documentation.
- Coordination of structural scope of works with multiple trades and stakeholders managing interactions within the shutdown work areas.
- Providing quality control of project works, ensuring scope of works are delivered to a high standard.
- Supporting and building a culture of inclusion and diversity within the team
- Assisting with training, developing and issuing permits in line with company requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Competent application of Queensland Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Perform the role of Supervisor with S1, S2, S3 and G2 qualifications.
- Proven experience in supervising multi-discipline trades in mining and/or construction industries with port experience (desirable).
- Actively comply with industry standards and company policies and procedures
- A focus and passion for keeping people and the environment safe.
- Demonstrated leadership behaviours that enables and empowers others to self-perform and achieve targets.
- Current Queensland Open Driver's Licence
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project (desired).
- Willing and able to learn to use the Company's permit system and document repository.
- Experience in Safety and Compliance for Safety Officer roles.
- Ability to pass the site-specific Company medical.
- Preferred candidates to have Standard 11 / Construction Card / Hay Point or BMA experience.
- Prior Responsible Persons pass out to manage isolations highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work an approved roster, some positions required to work a rotating day and night shift roster.
