Job description

We have a fantastic, fixed term opportunity for 12 months for someone who would love to manage a growing team and is interesting in ensuring high standards of compliance with internal policies, legal requirements and industry regulations. You will also have the autonomy to take ownership of any issues raised, resolve complaints whilst identifying and mitigating potential risks. This role will also be the working group lead for the Recoveries workstream in the Home Re-design programme, where you will have the opportunity to shape the future processes for how we tackle recoveries across the whole property system with the aim of delivering optimum value for Aviva and our customers.
 

A bit about the job:

Daily duties will allow you to own and deliver the property recovery strategies by leading and developing your team.  You will also review supplier performance to drive business improvement and manage performance of outsourced partners. The role entails you to operate within an environment of governance, identify risk and develop strategies to mitigate risk whilst having a strong grasp of the regulatory and business risk implications of opportunities and decisions.  You will be able to provide constructive challenge where necessary ensuring informed decisions are made and the right outcomes are achieved.  We maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to sustain an effective control environment and compliance with relevant business standards, influencing and challenging key risk owners and decision makers

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience and understanding of Property claims inc managing operational claims teams preferred.
  • Self-motivated, with excellent communication and negotiation skills with capability to lead, motivate and develop a team of recovery claim handlers
  • Ability to interpret data and provide insightful commentary 
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and perform under pressure including multitasking
  • Effective in handling and resolving difficult complaints and issues/performance conversations involving external suppliers
