About the role

• Eastern Health is inviting applications for the position of Provisional Fellow in Anaesthesia, based at Box Hill Hospital, commencing in February 2025.
• 4 positions are available, with 6 month appointments preferred. Full year appointments can be considered on an individual basis.
• Positions are full-time, and include participation in the after-hours and overnight roster. Rostering is consistent with ANZCA guidelines for training, and include Clinical Support Time.
• Applications for Part-time and/or job share appointments will be considered individually. Appointments on a part-time basis will require a pro-rata commitment to after-hours work.
• Start dates align with relevant PMCV term dates in February and August 2025.
• Provisional Fellowsin Anaesthesia at Box Hill Hospital work under appropriate supervision to provide suitable anaesthesia for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures.
• Surgical services provided at Box Hill include Vascular, ENT, Thoracics, Upper GI, Colorectal, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Urology, Obstetrics and Paediatric Surgery.
• Provisional Fellows are also involved in other services provided by the Department of Anaesthesia at Box Hill Hospital, including anaesthesia outside the Operating Suite (e.g. Interventional Radiology and Cardiology), Obstetric Analgesia, Acute Pain Management and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

Provisional Fellows have the opportunity to participate in a number of Clinical Support Activities during their time at Box Hill Hospital, including:

• Coordination of Morbidity and Mortality Meetings
• Coordination of Trainee Welfare and Mentoring programs
• Teaching roles, including assisting trainees with exam preparation
• Completion of individual audit or research activities

Provisional Fellows are entitled to 5 weeks annual leave. Eastern Health follows the Medical remuneration Heads of Agreement, as well as providing salary packaging facilities.
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.
An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
