Form of workThis Victorian mental health service is a dynamic, mission-driven service dedicated to delivering first class, safe and effective patient centred psychiatric care. They are seeking a full-time consultant psychiatrist to join their growing team of medical professionals. You will be personable, down-to-earth, flexible, team-oriented, and empathetic.
Remuneration package based on the Victorian Medical Specialists Wage Agreement.
Package up to $450k - depending on years of experience.
Additional allowances available.
Includes 30k professional development allowance.
Objectives of this role include but are not limited to:
Providing Addiction Psychiatry specialist services and consultation liaison services to patients of the health service.
Collaborating with the Addiction Medicine specialist (physician) via the Addiction Medicine Consultation & Liaison Services.
Help in the delivery of an Eating disorder specialist service.
Work closely with the executive to develop the service on an ongoing basis.
Provide senior clinical leadership to relevant staff.
Work with the Heads of Units to further develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide Addiction/ consultation Liaison Medicine and eating disorder services to clients.
Initiate and participate in teaching, audit and research activities.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to increase AOD expertise.
Take responsibility for quality patient care in accordance with the care model of the ward/unit, ensuring that clinical procedures are performed in accordance with policy etc.
Ensure continuity of care.
Provide leadership to junior staff.
Work collaboratively with MDTs.
Required skills and qualifications include but are not limited to:
FRANZCP - with experience in addiction psychiatry.
High level collaborative skills.
Commitment to professional development.
