Outstanding opportunity for an inspiring leader and an industry expert in sustainable tree management services to join our high performing and diverse Infrastructure Directorate. If you're looking for a challenging role in a dynamic team and an exciting local government then this role is for you.
As the Public Trees Manager you will lead, manage and inspire the Public Tree team to asset manage trees while increasing the tree canopy across the LGA in a manner that is well considered and collaborative with the community.
This role is progressive and provides an opportunity to invest in the strategic direction of tree management across the LGA through the development of policies and responses to Council resolutions and leans on your knowledge of public tree asset management principles and practices including tree risk assessment, inventory database management, quality audits and operational WHS requirements.
This role is part of the Infrastructure Directorate and reports to the Senior Manager Operations. You will lead the work an activities of your staff and ensure that the team consistently works to meet its targets and commitments against their individual and team performance plans and Council's Operational and Strategic plans. You will be community focussed and work collaboratively with the Director Infrastructure to ensure success of the directorate.

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
1. Relevant Aboricultural qualifications OR significant equivalent industry experience in tree management at a senior level
2. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team and its functions to achieve outcomes that address current challenges for the IWC and its commitments to the community.
3. Extensive knowledge of Tree Preservation Orders and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act as it relates to tree management and protection.
4. Class C Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence
