About the team

The Automation Test Lead is responsible for delivering Quality initiatives to drive efficiency and accelerate the speed of delivery.

The Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining the Test Automation Framework, lead, and mentor a team of automation engineers and bring process improvements to the Quality stream by implementing new automation initiatives and drive those initiatives to an end state.

About the role

As an Automation Test Lead, you will work towards:
  • Drive tangible business performance improvement through:
    • Develop and own an Automation Test Strategy and an Automation framework and a road map of Automation deliverables.
    • Develop and enhance test methods and tools required to support the program test delivery.
    • Monitor the progress of Automation testing and provide support to the test delivery across the program by way of SME input, coaching and issue management.
  • Manage relationship with external vendors / partners relating to testing functions, including ensuring adherence to quality measurements defined in SOWs/Agreements
  • Work in collaboration with key stakeholders to review requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing and updating automation initiatives to deliver operational efficiencies
  • Undertake a mentoring and leadership role within the team, promoting and supporting the uptake and development of automation tools and methodologies.
  • Provide specialist skills, knowledge and advice on automation packaged applications, supporting software and best practises
  • Provide Test governance for the delivery of automation and patching initiatives using project management methodologies
  • Build strong business partnerships and deliver detailed IT input for business cases pertaining to automation opportunities
  • Constantly adjust to business change; including new requirements, evolving goals, strategies, and emerging technologies with an overlay of automation principals applied
  • coordinate collaboratively communicate and across different teams to deliver outcomes
  • Document toolsets, test architectures and ensure they are transitioned for supportability
  • Maintain strategic partner relationships with key vendors and customer stakeholders

Good things you'll bring to the role:

  • 10+ years of Testing experience and 5+ years of leading a Test Automation capability
  • In-depth experience delivering, developing and executing Quality Automation solutions in Web based testing and mobile applications using tools like TOSCA, Appium, UFT, Selenium (WebDriver), Jenkins (CI), TestNG, Maven, Cucumber (BDD), REST API, Postman and SoapUI.
  • Experience in creating and designing an Automation Framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems and implement innovative solutions.
  • Strong experience in integration tool Maven and version control management tool like jfrog, Bit Bucket, GitHub implementation for Automation scripts.
  • Experience using the agents on VMs, setting up power shell scripts on pipelines to make use of variables to schedule nightly Automation using Azure pipelines.
  • Running Integration tests, API tests and experience with Performance testing is an added advantage.
  • Experience in creating SQL scripts and ability to run Automation Scripts in multiple Test Environments.
  • Experience with environment management and test data creation for test automation
  • Ability to analyze test requirements from Business Requirements, Design Documents and Functional Specifications.
  • Experience writing Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Scenarios and Test cases.
  • Experience in Functional, Regression and System testing using Manual and Automated testing tools - TOSCA, REST, Soap UI & Postman.
  • Proven experience in testing for critical systems and complex technology environments.
  • Experience with Defect Management and Test Reporting.
  • Experience working with HP ALM, Jira, Confluence.
  • Experience in Test landscape that includes many integrated systems, various stakeholders, and multiple vendor teams.
  • Experience in providing Test leadership across a technology stack that spans secure networks, high data volumes, high speed compute, large scale store and related processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Proven track record in test / quality management delivery

  • Tertiary IT degree or equivalent
  • ISTQB Certification (desired)
