We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced QHSE Advisor to join our team based in Roma, QLD

The QHSE Advisor will be responsible for promoting safe, responsible, and compliant operations throughout their area of responsibility, ensuring that HSEQ methods and systems are implemented, used consistently and monitored regularly and appropriate support is provided to managers and employees in relevant QHSE matters.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for:

  • Act as the focal point for all HSEQ matters in area of responsibility including the provision of advice on relevant legislation; may liaise with government and other external bodies as required including the award and/or maintenance of external certification.
  • Ensure compliance with Expro HSEQ methods and systems in the area of responsibility to ensure consistency of approach and understanding of goals.
  • Support managers in the delivery of HSEQ targets and goals to ensure continuous awareness and improvement of key HSEQ areas.
  • Explain HSEQ policies, standards and directives to managers and employees and suggests appropriate training as necessary.
  • Ensure non-conformance reports (PIRs) are raised, investigated and effective correction action taken and closed out.
  • Arrange and contribute to safety and quality meetings within the area of responsibility. 
  • Maintain the emergency response plan including requirement for drills and training in area of responsibility.
  • Supporting the safety management system through: 
    • Assist in the creation and review of risk, manual handling and hazardous substance assessments and registers. 
    • Maintenance of safety related equipment registers.
    • Ensure accidents and near misses are reported, investigated and effective corrective action taken and closed out.
    • Provide HSE and Quality training including HSEQ induction training for new hires and contractors.
    • Monitor HSEQ performance and support managers to comply with reporting requirements. 
    • Conduct or arrange HSEQ audits in compliance with agreed audit schedule (HSE and Quality); conducts or arranges regular tours of worksite/offices to assist managers with identification and control of hazardous or unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with QA/QC control as required, including conducting reviews of equipment certification packages; liaising with third parties for witnessing and inspections as part of preventative maintenance and inspection and equipment readiness; Conducting supplier audits. 

Who are you? To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a QHSE environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Work, Health, and Safety or similar.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry, or a related field. 
  • Qualifications and experience in conducting audits (internal and external).
  • Knowledge of Local Australian applicable Acts and Regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience with ‘Site Safety management’. 
  • Experience with Asset management and preventative maintenance.
