Quality Assurance Site Manager (Parental Leave Cover)

Due to upcoming Parental Leave, we looking to for a Quality Assurance Site Managerto join our team on a fixed-term contract. This will run from approximately July 2024 through to January 2025. Please note that contract length may be subject to change.

About the role:

You will be reporting to the National QA and Technical Manager while being responsible for managing a small quality team, having total site responsibility for QA matters. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact through continuous improvement of process and product quality.

Your Responsibilities will include:

• Drive compliance to relevant food safety statutory and legislative standards.
• Lead and/or facilitate QA related audit, both external and internal.
• Support site operational systems and processes.
• Liaise with management, supervisors & customers to ensure quality system requirements are developed and adhered to.
• Oversee the entire QA function.
• Assess new & existing suppliers, ingredients & specifications as part of our Vendor Assurance Program.
• Collaboration with the cross functional teams such as Operations, Regulatory, R&D, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing in optimising our Quality strategy.
• Mentor, train and manage the QA team to assure best practice quality standards & systems. 
• Assist the National QA and Technical Manager with continuous improvement of the product, systems, and process.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications in Science, Food Technology, or food related discipline.
• 3+ years' experience in a QA/Technical Leadership role within Food industry.
• Skilled in managing people. 
• Proven experience in BRC/Coles CFMSR or similar compliance standard within a food processing facility
• Knowledge of Halal and Export standards.
• Excellent problem solving and process improvement skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Highly motivated and self-driven with outstanding attention to detail
• Good judgment and capability to understand the impact of decision making on the greater business.
