Here’s where you come in

We are seeking to fill roles for a Senior Microbiologist and a Microbiologist in our Quality Control team. You will provide technical expertise in development, review and implementation of methods and standards related to microbiological analysis at our Salisbury site.

You’ll be supported every step of the way as part of a large, high achieving Quality Team.

Your responsibilities, at a glance, will include:

  • Ensure the procedures and methods used by Mayne Pharma meet or exceed current regulatory expectations with respect to all aspects of microbiological analysis
  • Perform routine microbial testing of raw material, bulk in process, finished product, and stability samples in accordance with compendial and in-house methods
  • Validate test methods including microbiological analysis and biological assays for antibiotic products
  • To prepare stock cultures, media, standards and solutions needed for microbiological testing
  • Develop, perform and report on utility and environmental monitoring functions
  • Order and maintain the chemical and consumable material inventory necessary to perform microbial testing
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and calibration of equipment used in the micro laboratory
  • Recommend and initiate testing protocols as part of development projects
  • Organising and managing micro lab workload for optimal results (senior)
  • Managing the micro teams performance, training and development, and sharing knowledge with the wider QC team to further understanding and cross functional support (senior)

You need to tick these boxes

We select applicants based on capability and aptitude. But we also emphasise cultural fit. Therefore, you’ll need to have a positive mindset and be prepared to take ownership of your performance.

We are looking for someone who can coach others, work cooperatively and impart your knowledge to the broader team.

To be successful in this role you will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications majoring in Microbiology or a related Scientific field
  • Experience working within a microbiology laboratory
  • Knowledge or working experience in performing test method validations or method suitability testing
  • Knowledge of the PIC/s Code of GMP, ISO quality standards or other quality management systems
  • Ability to clearly and logically present complex technical information in written and oral format
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationship with stakeholders
  • Computer literate (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to work autonomously within a highly functioning team
  • Effective time management and organisation skills, with excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • A flexible, adaptable and responsive approach to changing business needs
