About the role:
In this role, you will ensure that appropriate quality assurance systems and activities are in place across the food manufacturing operation to meet all statutory, customer, and certification requirements with regard to food safety and product quality. You will look to optimize the day-to-day operation of the manufacturing plant to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements as well as continually reviewing and improving all quality-based training for our operations staff.

You will be part of an experienced team of QA professionals where our focus is to continuously improve and deliver the highest possible standards through manufacturing and product delivery. You will also ensure that all internal NCR's are raised for manufacture deviations and corrective and preventative actions are implemented and closed out adequately and in a timely manner.

You will assist the team and be responsible for the day-to-day Quality Assurance Department activities for the site.

This includes:

  • the overall finished product quality on-site
  • assisting the production team in achieving first-time quality for all finished goods
  • being "hands-on" to ensure compliance and maintain SQF, and other food safety and quality standards
  • checking of production processes and record-keeping
  • completing CCP, CP and QCP checks throughout the shift
  • product evaluation as part of the final product release 
  • assessing non-conformances and product deviations through the manufacturing process
  • hold product register maintenance
  • non-conformance register maintenance
  • implementing corrective and preventative actions within our manufacturing processes 
  • maintaining batch retention samples and records
  • verification and validation
  • GMP Audits
  • Knife and sharp implements control 
  • completing complaint investigations and maintaining customer complaints register
  • training support
  • involvement in internal, external, supplier, and other audits
  • and any other troubleshooting would be some of the critical tasks associated with the role

You will spend significant time on the factory floor implementing, educating, and training operators to improve and exceed the quality parameters

We are looking for an energetic, fun and detail focused Quality Specialist to join our QA team

  • Immediate start if successful at the interview stage
  • Experience in food manufacturing, HACCP & food safety systems desirable
  • Good understanding of food processing technology & a practical aptitude
  • MUST have good Communication & Computer skills
  • Flexibility required with shift hours
  • Ability to lead, influence positive outcomes, drive first-time quality and positive quality culture

The role will see you working cross-functionally with Production, and Operations to drive quality performance, design specifications, and comply with regulations.
