Quarry Manager

Pantoro South are actively seeking a strategic & people focused Quarry Manager to oversee one of our premier sites based in Norseman. Reporting to the Mining Operations Manager, you will lead all functionalities of the Open Pit, specifically focusing on safety, environment and rock movement, people leadership, performance and operational. Your key role is partnering with our drilling, mining, and haulage contractors to drive meaningful relationships and promised results. Your well-developed operational acumen will see to your success in identifying areas of cost efficiencies, growth, and process improvements.

Reporting to the Mining Operations Manager working on a 8:6 roster, your daily remit will include but not be limited to:

• Day-to-day management of all open pit production operations including planning activities for the site
• Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices, and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to the mine operation teams.
• Managing optimisation projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Driving a strong safety culture which ensures adherence to procedures for operational activities, site standards and legislation.
• Leading, organising, developing, and motivating your teams to exceed expectations and targets, while building meaningful succession pathways for your staff
• Developing and implementing key productivity improvements to drive operational efficiency.
• Working collaboratively and fostering relationships with key partners to achieve wider business objectives.
• Measuring, recording, analysing, and reporting on safety, people and productivity activities to consistently achieve/exceed plan and improve performance.

To ensure success in this role, you will have:

• Proactive with a strong commitment in driving a safe working culture.
• Experience working in operational leadership roles and be confident in effectively leading, mentoring, and coaching team members as well as interfacing with senior leaders.
• A desire to build and lead engaged teams.
• Prior contractor management experience.
• Understanding of the mining industry from both an operational and technical perspective.
• Mining operational optimisation knowledge and/or experience.
• Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve safety and operational outcomes and delivery of targets.
• A WA Quarry Managers certificate.

Modern Camp

The project is serviced by a modern accommodation village situated within the Norseman township with full messing facilities and a new gym. Employees will also have access to the town facilities and services, providing the best of both worlds while on site.

 About the Project

The Norseman Gold Project is an exciting project which includes a 1 million tonne per annum processing plant completed in September 2022 and development of multiple large open pits and underground mines. Mining activities have been established for well over a 12-month period providing on-target tonnes to the processing facility.  

Existing mine life is approaching 10 years. Ongoing organic growth is expected with six drill rigs focused on Ore Reserve growth currently operating.

Pantoro is a growing Australian gold producer with established operations at the Norseman Gold Project providing ore development and stock for the new processing plant. The processing plant commenced commissioning in September 2022 and is currently achieving more than design nameplate.  Pantoro continues its evolution from junior to mid-tier gold producer - this is an exciting time to join our company.
