You will work with private equity firms and corporate/trade buyers and sellers to bridge a gap between the deal parties' positions through proactively sourcing and providing expert advice on unfamiliar and novel corporate situations.

Our client's legal team is led by a top international M&A lawyer who is focused on training and mentoring their team of 6.
  
Position Description
  
Due to growth, there is an opportunity for a candidate with 2-4 years' M&A experience (from either a legal, consulting, private equity, tax, or accounting lens) to pivot into a challenging, problem-solving, and client-centric role.
  
In this role, you will have the opportunity to join one of the best Transaction Risk teams in Australasia as they assist private equity firms and corporate/trader buyers and sellers on M&A transactions internationally.
  
Key responsibilities will include:
  

  • Identifying deal risks through analysis of M&A transaction documentation, financial statements, and due diligence reports, as well as conducting calls with brokers, clients, and lawyers
  • Drafting and negotiating bespoke policy terms for the specific risks and challenges that a deal may present
  • Calculating premiums and charges
  • Assisting with the progress of multiple transactions across their underwriting cycle
  • Liaising with external legal counsel representing companies in each deal
  • Stakeholder management – develop relationships with brokers, lawyers, private equity firms, deal principals, and colleagues from our client's global offices
  • Coordinate and participate in special projects
  
Requirements
  
The successful applicant will:
  • Have 2-4years of post-admission experience and solid knowledge of M&A
  • Ideally, you will have experience with negotiation and/or mediation
  • Ability to consistently maintain current knowledge of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to their business, to proactively respond to changing business environments
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
