You’ll be up for pulling together with your crew, bunking in shared accommodation and the unpredictability and unique challenges of the alpine environment. Mt Buller Race & Events Department (RED) is seeking enthusiastic and committed team members to join our dynamic team to deliver a variety of high quality on snow events. Events include; Giant Slalom; Slalom; Boarder X; Skier X; Moguls; Snowboard and Skiing Rail & Slopestyle; and Cross Country competitions up to an International level. Our premier event – the Victorian Interschool’s competition has over 6000 individual entries across a suite of disciplines. The RED conducts over 190 events each winter season. Race coaching experience is advantageous.
We will provide extensive training to any successful candidate.
Your responsibilities will include:
Set up, prepare, plan all administrative aspects of timing for an event.
Prepare start lists for events.
Time events to ensure accurate results.
Prepare & publish results
All logistical work to ensure each event location has the necessary equipment to conduct safe & effective event
Assist is setting up timing systems and other course configurations are directed.
Employment Time Frame:
Employment will commence from the middle of June through mid September.
We're looking for people with:
High energy levels and initiative to work in a small and dynamic team
Applicants need to have intermediate to advanced skiing skills to fulfil tasks and will work in all weather environments
Previous event management skills (particularly on snow) are advantageous
Excellent communication and guest service skills (fluent English)
A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to be a team player
Ability to maintain a pleasant, professional manner under pressure and during extremely busy times
Your own ski/snowboard equipment including helmet
Previous event timing experience with ALGE timing systems advantageous
