Racecourse Groundsperson

Located at Gifford Hill the Murray Bridge Racing Club is seeking an ambitious and hard-working individual to join our team as a Racecourse and Grounds Assistant, with an opportunity to work across all aspects of racecourse maintenance and the racecourse surrounds. 

About the Role

As a Racecourse and Groundsperson, part of the role you will be responsible for a range of tasks, it is never ground hog day doing this work which including:

  • Track & garden maintenance including but not restricted to knocking back divots, sanding, mowing, slashing, rail movements and repairs.
  • Operation and Maintenance of Mowers and tractors and associated equipment,
  • Assisting with race day operations and racecourse infrastructure projects.
  • This is a Full-Time position, of 38 hrs per week. However, some weekend work will be required around the racing , which means you will have the chance to experience the excitement of race day operations and be part of the team that makes it all happen.

You will work as part of a team , you will also need to be able to work independently and take ownership of your work.

Skills & Experience

  • In this role, you will need to be able to lift heavy objects, bend and move without restriction.
  • Operate maintenance equipment competently.
  • You must also have your own transport and car licence, as we value reliability and trustworthiness.
  • Current First Aid & CPR qualifications whilst not crucial are desirable.
