Radio (RF) Techician

Spectra Engineering  is a leading Australian designer and manufacturer of Radio Communications equipment exporting worldwide. 

We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Radio Technician or Engineer to participate in the final test section of our production department. From implementation, testing, alignment, repair and service. Support for the R&D department.

What do I have?

• Certificate III or higher in electronics engineering, RF engineering or related fields of study.
• A min of 5 years industry experience in Radio or RF Technology.
• Understanding of Analog and Digital radio technologies like P25, DMR.

 Essential Skills Requirements

• The candidate will need a minimum of 5 years experience as a radio communications engineer or senior technician. 
• An understanding of VHF and UHF two way radio hardware.
• Repair, test and fault diagnosis RF circuitry to component level.

Desirable Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in using Altium for schematic and PCB layout would be well regarded.
• Experienced in using RF and electrical measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies and, multi-meters etc.

The Person

To be successful in this role you must have:

• Strong soldering skills with the ability to replace components down to 0402 sizes.
• Read schematics, assembly drawings, data sheets and work instructions to perform product assembly and testing.
• Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A well organized and pro-active and positive approach to work.
• The ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience in manufacturing and servicing of RF products is favorable.
• Enjoy working with a collaborative team and in a technically challenging environment.
