Where you'll be working
- Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.
- The Westmead Breast Cancer Institute (BCI) has provided multidisciplinary breast cancer care since 1995, supporting patients with comprehensive diagnostic, treatment, support, education, and research services.
- BCI emphasizes a multidisciplinary, patient-focused approach in breast cancer care, including clinical care, breast screening, research, and education, and ensures collaborative decision-making in treatment.
- The Westmead Breast Centre offers comprehensive diagnostic imaging services and prioritises aesthetic surgical results and oncoplastic approaches, while providing vital support services like education, counselling, and support groups.
What you'll be doing
- To understake all aspects of Mammography Imaging for Westmead Breast Cancer Institute, demonstrating high clinical expertise in Breast Imaging.
- Ensure targets are met for Diagnostic and Screening breast imaging.
- Follow policies, procedures, and guidelines of Western Sydney Local Health District and BreastScreen Australia National Accreditation Standards.

Essential Criteria
License: NSW EPA Radiation licence IA14 Registration: Radiographer - Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a Radiographer Qualifications: Radiographer - Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science – Diagnostic radiography. Cardiac Technologist - Post Graduate Degree in Sonography or qualifications or competencies deemed equivalent by the employer.
Selection Criteria:
- High level customer service skills and Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
- Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail and Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative
- Highly developed communication with working in a multidisciplinary team and other health professionals
- Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues and problem solving, Understanding of the management of patient complaints and patient privacy
- Experience in mammography with knowledge of quality assurance would be desirable. Maintaining high quality imaging, performing over 50% of Perfect and Good imaging, keep below the Repeat Rate (2%) and Technical Recall Rate of all imaging.
- Ability to assist in training others (orientation and supervise) when required
- If a radiographer, Working towards/ willing to obtain Certificate of Clinical Proficiency in Mammography certificate within 12 months of starting appointment
