An exciting career awaits you at ASC, Australia's submarine company - recently named as the sustainer of Australia's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines.We have immediate opportunities for skilled people to undertake world-leading training in the United States (U.S), setting you up for a secure career back home in the nuclear-powered submarine program - Australia's largest-ever industrial endeavour.You will have access to cutting edge training in Pearl Harbor (Hawaii) for 2-3 years, with some roles completing placements at other locations throughout the USA during the full course of the assignment.Find your deeper purpose working with submarines at ASC.Role & ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking applications from individuals who have attained high level qualifications in the physical sciences and mathematics who are keen to learn new skills and to find a Deeper Purpose!Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be trained in one of the areas of preference listed below and deployed to the US to play an integral part in building Australia's Nuclear capability.You will be immersed into the United States Navy processes, procedures and working on the Virginia Class systems in Pearl Harbour or other U.S locations. You will also undertake a combination of instructor led classroom-based training and on the job learning.

Opportunities are available immediately and individuals wishing to express interest in a position should be available and interested in being repatriated in the near term.At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia to carry out the planning, management and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines.Please note this is a Civilian role and recruitment processes will differ from those undertaken in Active Service Defence recruitment.Eligibility CriteriaThe successful person will possess:
  • Tertiary (College level) education in Physical Sciences / Maths or equivalent work experience in health service in a relevant field
  • This opportunity is open to individuals with typically 1-5 years of industry experience,
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level,
  • Ability to repatriate to the US prior to the end of 2024,
  • Eligibility to obtain an A2 working VISA and International Training Order (ITO) in the US,
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
