About the Division / Team

Our Interstate network is responsible for the management of approximately 6,000km of track and servicing a broad range of supply chains. The team comprises more than 500 staff and 24 provisioning centres and depots, which continue to deliver major corridor maintenance works and projects across the country to increase the efficiency and capacity of Australia's rail network.

About the OpportunityWe are currently seeking applications from safety focused, hardworking, rail enthusiasts to join our newly developed teams. This role is a rare and exciting opportunity to be a part of a team working on various projects around the ARTC Interstate Network.

This role has a strong focus contributing to the delivery of various maintenance projects such as re-railing, undercutting, formation upgrades, vegetation management and other various civil works. In order to complete these activities, the safe and efficient operation of specialised machinery such as Hi-Rail excavators, dump trucks and Front-End Loaders will be a core requirement of the role.

As these are field based positions, you will be required to work a variable roster dependant on business needs e.g., 9 and 5, 10 and 4, 5 and 2, with extensive travel.

About You

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Self-motivated.
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
  • Safe working qualifications relevant to the position - highly regarded.
  • Operational experience with mobile plant in a railway environment - highly regarded.
  • Current Rail Industry Competencies.
  • Construction industry induction (white card).
  • Current Driver's Licence - HR and above highly regarded.
  • Ability to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical.
  • Prior experience working in a physically demanding role.

Applicants must be willing to be flexible on hours of work, be able to travel away from home and work overtime as required by ARTC.
