We have an exciting opportunity for a Rail Road Interface Manager to join Regional Safety, Risk and Assurance team on a permanent full-time basis. In this role you will be responsible for leading the Regional Level Crossing Program and provide expert advice to manage governance, risk and safety improvements for the road / rail interface assets.This position is based in Brisbane however for the right candidate there is flexibility for this position to be based at one of our other offices. You will be required to travel regularly throughout the region in this position.What Queensland Rail has to offer
- Permanent full-time position based in Brisbane, Townsville, Rockhampton or Cairns
- Starting base salary $146,000 plus 12,75% superannuation

- Participate and present solutions in various safety meetings including presenting to Senior Executives and external stakeholders
- Provide expert advice on rail safety and risk management principles to support the Regional business identifying and assessing road, and rail interfaces.
- Lead and manage the implementation and maintenance of key governance systems data and documentation
- Facilitate and administer the change and risk management processes in partnership with key business representatives
- Provide expert advice in rail safety investigations into road and rail incidents.
- Develop key safety strategies to improve the compliance and governance of road and rail interface for Regional business.
- Conducting risk assessments and other level crossing safety assessments.
Highly organised and motivated individual who is adaptable and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will have a positive attitude that displays outstanding communication, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High level of leadership, influencing and strategic direction setting skills
- Previous experience and knowledge of railway infrastructure systems, their interfaces, technical aspects and technical standard
- Extensive knowledge of governance, risk and compliance and its application to the regulation and risk mitigation for the construction, maintenance and operation of road rail interfaces.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with a customer focused attitude to work collaboratively with stakeholders in understanding and addressing concerns to add value
- Substantial level of skills to integrate complex technical issues into outcomes in line with Queensland Rail operations and business imperatives.
- Cert IV/Diploma/Degree in Safety is highly regarded
