Rail State Lead - New South Wales

Company Overview:


Our client, a leading player in the rail engineering and project management sector, has built a strong reputation delivering rail infrastructure projects since its establishment in 2014. With a rich portfolio of projects spanning across various regions in Australia, our client has collaborated with industry giants including BHP, Fortescue Metals Group, Rio Tinto as well as operators including Sydney Metro providing delivery support across both regional, and metropolitan infrastructure assets.
 
Position Overview:

Our client is currently seeking a motivated and dynamic individual, primarily responsible for the oversight and growth of their NSW operation. With a desire to grow and develop their client base across the state, they are looking for an individual with a demonstrated history leading business through a strong period of growth.
You will play a pivotal role in priority-setting for major transport infrastructure projects, alongside leading the application of strong business development processes in order to seek out and develop a strong pipeline of opportunities. You will also lead and support the continued professional development of both the state and national based delivery teams.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and continue the development of the NSW business strategy, holding accountability for all people and operational requirements, business development and P&L accountability.
  • Lead, manage and drive operational excellence across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to address technical challenges and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel, ensuring adherence to quality and safety protocols.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management or related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams with a focus delivering on major infrastructure projects.
  • An ability to leverage your existing network of rail contractors, operators and consultancies to help develop business opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to upholding safety and quality assurance standards.
