R&D Compliance Technologist

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an R&D Compliance Technologist to join our Research & Development team.

Reporting to the Senior Technologist and Compliance Manager, the R&D Compliance Technologist assists in ensuring all products developed by Bulla comply with the Australian Food Standards Code and relevant legislation. This is achieved through an in-depth knowledge of Australia, New Zealand, Private Label Standards and International legislation, conducting relevant checks and assisting the Bulla Product Development Team.

This role assists to ensure that all product labels, supporting documents and technical systems are updated and compliant for each product launch and or product updates

Your responsibilities will include:

• Support the product development efforts of the company to deliver Bulla's NPD requirement
• Act as the R&D Lead on some NPD projects
• Maintain a detailed knowledge of the Australian Food Standards Code and relevant legislation and keep up to date with the changing legislative environment.
• Knowledge of NZ and International legislation
• Maintain a detailed knowledge of retailer's systems and regulations.
• Assist with collation and checking of supplier's information including but not limited to PIF’s
• Support the Bulla Stage & Gate process by ensuring that Bulla products and NPD are compliant with FSANZ & other regulatory requirements
• Ensure that as well as maintaining taste & quality attributes, any Bulla product changes, or NPD are compliant with FSANZ and other regulatory requirements
• Act as the technical lead on compliance and packaging update projects
• Assist with product compliance checks in regard to international market regulations
• Maintain technical data in both internal and external databases
• Assist customer service with information requests and training

You will have:

• Technical qualification in Food Technology, Dairy technology or equivalent experience desired
• Experience in a technical role would be an advantage
• Experience in writing specifications and procedures would be an advantage
• Knowledge of the Australian Food Standards Code and relevant government legislation
• Experience in compliance for Export would be an advantage.
• Ability to effectively manage time, set priorities, plan and execute.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including the ability to manage workplace communication and effective workplace relationships.
• Ability to write technical documentation
• Flexibility to handle a range of tasks with changing priorities.
• Good computer skills
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail
• Current Australian Driver’s License
• Will be required to travel to the different operational and sales sites within Victoria (primarily Derrimut, Colac, Mulgrave & Dandenong).
