AddressOur large governement department is requiring the meticulous and methodical skills of a Records Cataloguer. You will be working at a beautiful Inner West location and learning the best way to use Metadata.The position is responsible for recording metadata from physical analogue photography assets into a formatted excel spreadsheet which is then linked via a digital asset management system.
Essential:
- Accurately cataloguing a large collection of physical analogue photography assets which have been digitised and will be handed to you by the scanner operator for metadata capture.
- Working with fragile photographs that need to be recorded digitally.
- Transcribing metadata from physical assets into a detailed Microsoft Excel master spreadsheet
- Matching physical assets to data reordered on historical spreadsheets and transcribing this data to the master spreadsheet
- Performing a range of file management functions to facilitate ingestion of metadata into the Digital Asset Management system.
Desirable:
- Arts, culture or heritage experience.
- Capability to ensure cataloguing meets specifications and standards appropriate for material being digitised.
- Excellent expertise cross referencing historical documentation
- Exceptional visual literacy
- Experience from a library or museum
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks that require a high level of attention and critical thinking.
