Job description

At RUAH we’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Recreation Kaya Peer to join our team! As a Recreation Kaya Peer, you’ll be responsible for providing support interventions that help clients build their confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Our participants will include people experiencing mental health challenges who are looking to become more active and reconnect with their community by engaging in various activities.

Your role will be to assist in delivering activities that are designed to help our clients improve their mental health and overall wellness. think walking groups, yoga, working out in the gym at local community centres, swimming, arts and crafts, gardening, coffee clubs and book clubs!

We’re looking for someone who is fun, empathetic, and has a positive attitude. You’ll need to be confident leading groups and working alongside our participants, their families, and various stakeholders.

  • A salary of level 2 of the SCHADS award, between $67,855-$69,659 pro-rata per annum depending on experience.

Essential

  • Experience and qualifications in delivering recreationally activities both in group settings and one to one.
  • Experience delivering one to one support

Required Compliance Documents

  • Current drivers’ license
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate
