We are seeking an experienced Recreational Coordinator who will work collaboratively with our existing Coordinator and Recreational team members. The position will be responsible for the programming and delivery of a range of individual and group activities in our 101 bed Aged Care facility. The Recreational program will be delivered whilst collaborating with other staff and volunteers to ensure that residents are able to participate in activities that meet their needs and are of interest to them. This care is provided as part of a holistic, person-centred care model that takes account of residents’ needs, whether physical, emotional, social or spiritual.
What We Need from You:
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle qualifications (or working towards this)
- Passion for delivering high quality care that makes a difference for our residents
- Eagerness to grow and develop your Aged Care career
- Previous work experience as a care professional in an Aged Care environment
- Experience in dementia care will be an advantage
- Strong verbal, written and communication skills and commitment to continuous quality improvement

The requirements for this role are outlined in the position description & include:
- Undertake resident assessments and complete associated documentation
- Facilitate the implementation of individualised Recreational programs according to consumers social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, physical and cognitive needs and abilities. This includes the provision of one-to-one activities, group activities and special events
- Assist consumers to achieve maximum independence, maintain friendships and participate in the community through planned group and individual leisure-based activities
- Monitor and evaluate the program on a regular basis to ensure that it is meeting the needs of the consumer, including suggestions on any improvements
- Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team to improve the lifestyle, autonomy and quality of life for all care recipients
- Facilitate the outing/bus trip program and complete associated documentation
- Actively seek feedback and suggestions from consumers and use this to guide quality improvement
- Support the Recreational Team to meet accreditation requirements
Previous experience in a similar position will be highly regarded.
