The College is seeking Casual Teachers in Arts in the below areas:
· Sociology
· History
· Literature
We are looking to add innovative and engaging Casual Academic Teachers to our eligibility lists. We are looking for Teaches with the above discipline knowledge who also have the following:
· Relevant Qualifications in an identified discipline area or relevant professional experience.
· Innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment
· Experience teaching in a diverse educational setting
· Experience in a secondary or Tertiary teaching environment
· Curriculum development experience would be highly desirable
· Understanding of transition pedagogy would be highly desirable
Qualification Requirements
As per TEQSA requirements, all Academic Teachers require either undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in the area of specialisation they are looking to teach in.
The Successful candidates will need to be able to design, develop and deliver learning activities in accordance with the needs of The College students.
This includes:
  • Facilitation of discussion boards and other forms of student communication including Microsoft Teams
  • Providing detailed and timely feedback to students
  • Conducting student consultations as required
  • Evaluate the progress of students objectively through moderation and use of The College standards
  • Following early intervention and other processes which comprise The College’s regular student support program
  • Maintaining quality standards in teaching/learning programs including being the first point of contact in managing student issues with content, extensions or questions
  • Participating in and contributing to review and continuous improvement of curriculum materials
Working with Children Check
As this position is expected to involve direct or unsupervised contact with children, and in accordance with legislative requirements, in order to commence working at The College, it is a requirement to obtain a “NSW Working with Children Check Clearance”. The screening involves checking that you are not a ‘disqualified person’ the meaning of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012. No disqualified person will be retained in or appointed to work in child related employment within The College.

Remuneration: current casual rates are $142.81 per hour for all teaching duties and $69.56 per hour for non-teaching duties specified in The College Enterprise Agreement
