Job description

The Referee Manageris responsible for managing NSFRA appointments of match officials for NSFA competitions and other competitions as appropriate, communications and engagement with NSFRA Referees and NSFRA Management Committee members as well as relevant data analysis relating to referee appointments. The Referee Manager is expected to be a key conduit between the NSFRA Management Committee and Referees as well have a close working relationship with the NSFA Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Responsibilities - Essential

  • Appointment of referees in all contracted NSFRA games;
  • Working closely with NSFA Competitions Department staff in scheduling appointments, including timely responses to late changes, cancellations, NSFA requested priorities, etc;
  • Maintenance and update of Referee allocation system, in conjunction with relevant competition management system(s) hosted by NSFA;
  • Data and statistical management of appointments relating to referee coverage every week, including reporting of outcomes to CEO / NSFRA;
  • Data entry and online maintenance of up to date list of referees, including relevant qualification criteria, completed training and outcomes of assessments based on information provided by NSFRA;
  • Weekly report on statistical information. This statistical information relates predominantly to percentage coverage stats every week, number of referees requesting changes in appointments, number of referees that cancelled appointments, active/inactive membership etc;
  • Oversight of payment systems and processes to ensure all match officials are paid for their refereeing duties (current payment frequency is weekly);
  • Conduit between the NSFRA Management Committee and Committee members + Referees including attendance at monthly Management Committee meetings
  • Oversight on the registration of Referees including assisting with queries and coordinating marketing & communications activities

Responsibilities - Desirable

  • Oversight and updating of the NSFRA Online Store
  • Organisation of the delivery of all logistics required for referee training, courses and other education
  • Organisation of Referee social events including Season Launch
  • Coordination of Referee uniform orders including distribution of uniforms to new Referees
  • Oversight of the compliance requirements for Referees including receipt of Statement of Supplier/Hobby forms and Working With Children number clearances
