ABOUT THE ROLE:
With the recent local and world markets shift toward zero emission vehicles and benefitting from Volgren’s strong focus on the design and development of innovative new bus solutions, we are looking to increase our workforce at this exciting time with talented individuals contributing to the overall success of our company.

We are looking to fill a Refrigerator Mechanics role within our Dandenong facility. In this hands-on position, you will have a strong drive and motivation to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment.
Positions enjoy working a 9-day fortnight. Pay rate is market competitive and depends on experience and qualifications. This will be a permanent full-time opportunity and paid as per our Enterprise Agreement.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to weld copper pipes.
• Ability to read drawings
• Regular inspection and diagnostic of refrigerators
• Performing routine services and maintenance of refrigeration equipment
• Completing relevant diagnostic and repair documentation
• Carrying out test operations and recording malfunctions
• Disassembling and reassembling air-conditioning and refrigeration systems
• Servicing and maintenance of our buses
• Hands on repairs of bus-based refrigerators
• Testing and recording malfunctions.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5 or more years’ experience as a Refrigerator Mechanics or equivalent
• A tertiary qualification in air conditioning and refrigeration (such as a AQF certificate) or a closely comparable trade
• Previous exposure and experience in a vehicle manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
• Clear and competent communication skills
• The ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment
• In-depth knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and their components
• Demonstrated ability to fault find, dissemble, repair and reassemble
• Applicants with previous experience in Chassis/Construction and or Fabrication, would highly be advantageous

This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation and hearing test
