About the Regional Engineering Manager Role:
Leading a team of mechanical and electrical maintenance technicians, the Regional Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and maintenance of multiple sortation and handling systems at Express Parcels sites. Leading the engineering and maintenance, you’ll provide team members a safe and responsive service.
You’ll actively participate in site capital planning, ensuring regional capital projects have sufficient engineering support. Adherence to scheduled maintenance standards and the adoption of continuous improvement processes to optimise reliability and system availability will also be paramount.
In addition, you’ll also be responsible for adhering to TGE’s safety policies and procedures, and drive safety improvements by participating in risk assessments, and the implementation of control measures.
What you’ll do (duties/responsibilities including/not limited to):
- Implementing the Engineering and Maintenance strategy plans as related to people, process, and systems
- Implementing the operating philosophy and standards for reliability and maintenance, establishing best practice and drive all aspects of operational process and performance in line with this
- Responsible for maintaining required reliability and asset availability targets
- Responsible for ‘cost out’ and cost improvement projects and initiative
- Supporting the optimisation of engineering purchasing and supply standards and performance, either directly or through third party providers
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Strong maintenance background (at least 5 years prior experience working as a maintenance manager)
- Solid experience leading engineering/maintenance and reliability functions
- Experience and knowledge in project management, budgeting, controls, and forecasting
- Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, lead and motivate people
- Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
- Qualification within an engineering and/or an electrical discipline
- Personality traits and/or characteristics should include passion, persistence, emotional intelligence, strong work ethic, time management skills and the ability to prioritise and delegate
